Hey Lapland is a platform dedicated to showcasing destinations throughout the Lapland region in the far north of Sweden, Norway and Finland.
At Hey Lapland we keep an open eye for locations that are unique, have charm or are off the beaten path.
We know it can be difficult to find restaurants, stores and hotels out of the city, so we have marked those locations in the rural areas for you.
Note that business is always changing, so be sure to check if the location is still operating ahead of your arrival. Some locations also have hours that change by the season, so it is important to call them and see what their hours are.
If you find a location has closed, we greatly appreciate if you can let us know so we can update our map.
We do not promote short term rental properties as we feel they takes homes off the market for locals and contribute to rising rent and house prices.

Who we are
Lauren Ell, founder
Ell relocated to Gällivare in 2016 from Southern California. This is the second time she has lived in Sweden. The first time she lived in Älmhult, Sweden, for 10 months during 2006-2007 as a foreign exchange student. She enjoys communication, scoping out new places to check out and sharing what she learns with the public. Her professional background is in marketing.
